FAQs
What is capelin?
Capelin is a small, silvery fish found in cold, northern waters, similar to sardines or anchovies, and is a natural source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids.
Are these treats suitable for puppies and kittens?
Yes, the product is suitable for pets over 3 months of age, provided they are introduced gradually as part of a balanced diet.
Can these treats help with my pet's skin and coat?
Yes, capelin is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to support healthy skin and promote a shiny, healthy coat.
How should I store the treats?
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Ensure the bag is tightly sealed after opening to maintain freshness.
What is the protein content?
The crude protein content is a minimum of 50%.
Can I feed these to small animals like hamsters?
While primarily marketed for dogs and cats, the single-ingredient nature and nutritional profile may be suitable for some small animals as an occasional treat, but always research specific dietary needs for those animals.
What does 'freeze-dried' mean for the nutrients?
Freeze-drying is a process that removes water content while preserving the natural flavor, texture, and nutritional value of the food with minimal nutrient loss.
Troubleshooting
Pet is hesitant to eat the treats
Start by offering a very small piece or crumbling it over their regular food to introduce the taste gradually. Ensure the pet is over 3 months old.
Treats are too dry or crumbly
This is normal for freeze-dried products. Handle gently and consider crumbling them over food if they break apart easily.
Pet experiences digestive upset
Introduce the treats slowly, following the feeding guide. If upset persists, discontinue use and consult your veterinarian.
Product appears stale or not fresh
Ensure the bag is properly sealed after each use and stored in a cool, dry place. Check the expiry date.
