Full details
The Honeywell Thermostat (T87/Y87) is a versatile digital room thermostat designed for modern homes, offering precise temperature control for direct boiler operation or as part of a multi-zone system. It excels in providing reliable room temperature measurement and setpoint adjustment, with the key benefit of optional connected operation via a Honeywell RFG100 internet gateway for remote smartphone control. A potential caveat is that the RF models require 2 x AA batteries, which need periodic replacement.

Troubleshooting
Thermostat not powering on (RF models)
Ensure the 2 x AA alkaline batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if depleted.
Heating system not responding to thermostat
Verify wiring connections for wired models. For RF models, check the wireless link to the zone controller and ensure they are within range. Confirm the thermostat is set to the correct operating mode (Heat/Off).
Inaccurate room temperature readings
Ensure the thermostat is not located near heat sources (radiators, direct sunlight) or drafts. Check that air vents on the unit are clear of dust and obstructions.
Unable to connect to the internet gateway
Confirm the RFG100 gateway is powered on and connected to your home network. Check your Wi-Fi signal strength and reboot both the gateway and your router if necessary.
App not showing correct status
Ensure your smartphone has an active internet connection. Try refreshing the app or logging out and back in. Verify the RFG100 gateway is online.
