Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Clean the surface to be repaired, ensuring it is free from dirt, grease, and moisture.
- Cut a length of the Bond It Silicone Rescue Tape sufficient to cover the damaged area, with some extra length for overlap.
- Remove the protective backing from the tape.
- Stretch the tape while wrapping it around the item, overlapping each layer by approximately 50%.
- Continue wrapping until the repair area is fully covered, and the tape has fused to itself.
Compatibility:
The Bond It Silicone Rescue Tape is compatible with a wide range of materials, including rubber, plastic, and metal. It is ideal for use on pipes, hoses, and other items where a waterproof and airtight seal is needed. It may not adhere well to surfaces with excessive oil or grease.
Care:
- Avoid applying the tape to surfaces that are constantly exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods, as this may degrade the tape over time.
- If the tape becomes dirty, clean it with a damp cloth.
- Store the tape in a cool, dry place to maintain its effectiveness.
