Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Gather necessary tools, including a wrench, a brake bleeder kit, and a container to collect the old fluid. Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
- Locate the Brake Fluid Reservoir: Find the brake fluid reservoir under the hood and remove the cap. Carefully clean the area around the reservoir to prevent contaminants from entering.
- Bleeding Sequence: Follow your vehicle's recommended bleeding sequence (usually starting with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder).
- Bleeding Process: Attach the bleeder kit to the bleed screw, open the screw, and pump the brake pedal. Watch for air bubbles and old fluid, and ensure the reservoir doesn't go empty. Repeat until clean fluid flows without air.
- Refill: Refill the reservoir with Brembo DOT 4 brake fluid to the correct level.
- Final Steps: Close the bleed screw, remove the bleeder kit, and replace the reservoir cap.
Compatibility
Brembo DOT 4 brake fluid is compatible with all cars, including those fitted with ABS. Always check your vehicle's manual for specific recommendations.
Care
- Regular Replacement: Replace brake fluid every 2-3 years, or as recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.
- Storage: Store the brake fluid in a sealed container, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
- Avoid Contamination: Never reuse brake fluid and always ensure the fluid container is sealed when not in use.
- Disposal: Dispose of used brake fluid properly according to local regulations.
