Setup, Compatibility & Care
For installation, it is recommended to drill holes in the base to bolt the unit securely into your truck bed or trailer chassis. Ensure that you use rubber washers between the bolt head and the aluminum to prevent water seepage. Compatibility is broad, covering most pickup trucks, flatbed trailers, and RV storage compartments, but verify your mounting space dimensions (39 x 13 x 10 inches) before purchase. For maintenance, periodically wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth and apply a silicone-based lubricant to the hinges and lock cylinder every six months to keep the mechanism operating smoothly. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that might strip the protective finish of the aluminum.
