Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install, always ensure the engine is completely cool. Use a high-quality spark plug socket with a rubber insert to prevent damage to the ceramic insulator. When installing, start the plug by hand to prevent cross-threading the cylinder head. It is recommended to use a torque wrench to tighten the plug to the manufacturer's specific torque value rather than relying on feel. Avoid using excessive anti-seize compound on the threads, as modern NGK plugs often feature a trivalent plating that resists corrosion and seizing. Always verify your vehicle's owner manual for the correct replacement interval and gap requirements.
