Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These pliers are ready for immediate use out of the box. Ensure they are clean and free from any packaging materials before the first use.
Compatibility: These pliers are primarily designed for electrical work on circuits up to 1,000 volts. They are compatible with various wire types commonly encountered in electrical installations. However, they are not designed for cutting hardened steel wire or other heavy-duty materials beyond their intended scope.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe the pliers clean with a dry, lint-free cloth to remove any dust, debris, or residue. For tougher grime, use a slightly damp cloth, but ensure the pliers are thoroughly dried afterward.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of light machine oil to the joint to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
- Storage: Store the pliers in a dry environment, preferably in a tool roll, case, or toolbox to protect them from moisture and physical damage.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the blades for any nicks or damage and check the handles for cracks or wear. Do not use the pliers if they are damaged.
