Setup, Compatibility & Care
Upon arrival in its 9cm nursery pot, the plant should be acclimated to your garden environment. If planting in the ground, choose a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained, fertile soil. For container growth, use a high-quality, loam-based compost and ensure the pot has excellent drainage holes to prevent root rot. During the first year, prioritize consistent watering to prevent the root ball from drying out. Pruning is rarely necessary but can be performed after flowering to maintain a desired shape or to remove crossing branches. Mulching in the spring helps retain moisture and provides a steady supply of nutrients as the plant enters its peak growth phase.
