Thor hide hammers feature a malleable iron head with two cylindrical faces made of compressed buffalo hide on a wooden shaft. The iron head delivers the force of the blow, while the hide faces absorb shock and transfer power to the struck item without causing damage. These hammers are ideal for situations requiring a strong blow in a confined striking area. The hide faces are designed to wear down and can be easily replaced with available spare parts. They are commonly used as general-purpose soft-faced hammers in engineering for assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks. The No. 4 size hammer includes a slip-on handle, while other sizes feature a standard wedge-type handle.
