Barrettine Teak Oil is designed for the treatment and enhancement of unsealed hardwood, providing a natural, water-resistant finish ideal for garden furniture and indoor pieces requiring a traditional matt look. Its key benefit is nourishing and reviving wood to reduce weathering, though it requires regular reapplication for outdoor use and is not suitable for oak furniture or flooring.

It is designed for untreated hardwood. It's ideal for general garden furniture and traditional indoor furniture, but it is not suitable for Oak furniture or flooring.
For outdoor use, very regular retreatment will be required. Depending on weather exposure, this may mean reapplying seasonally or more often to maintain the finish and water resistance.
The drying time between coats is 12-24 hours, and a minimum of 1 day is required after the final coat before using the treated item. Full drying typically takes 24-48 hours.
No, the wood must be unsealed and free from repellant coatings like wax, paint, and varnish. These must be removed and the wood sanded down as required before application.
Clean brushes and lint-free cloths immediately after use with White Spirit.
Cloths used for oiling can spontaneously combust. Immediately after use, soak them in soapy water, then lay them flat outside on a non-combustible surface to dry completely before disposal.
A 250ml tin should cover approximately 2 to 2.5 square metres, based on the coverage rate of 8-10 sq metres per litre.
Excess oil was not removed thoroughly. Wipe down the surface with a clean, lint-free cloth. For stubborn areas, a cloth lightly dampened with White Spirit might help, followed by a dry cloth wipe.
The wood may have absorbed the oil unevenly. Ensure the surface was prepared correctly, and that any oily woods were wiped with White Spirit. Apply thinner coats and ensure even coverage.
Insufficient coats applied or reapplication needed. Ensure at least 2-3 thin coats were applied and allowed to cure. For outdoor use, frequent retreatment is necessary.
This can happen in warm, dry conditions. Apply the oil in cooler temperatures and ensure excess is removed within the 10-15 minute window.
Preparation is essential for optimal results.
Compatibility: Suitable for untreated hardwood. Not suitable for Oak furniture or flooring.
Outdoor Use: For outdoor applications, a prior wood preservative treatment is recommended. Frequent retreatment is necessary to maintain protection.
