FAQs

Can I use this leg with a Preston Absolute 36 seatbox?

This leg is specifically designed for the Absolute 5G range. While it shares a 36mm diameter with other models, you should verify if your specific box model supports this exact leg type.

Is the foot included with this leg?

The leg is designed to be used with standard 36mm seatbox foot attachments compatible with the Absolute 5G system.

How do I measure my seatbox leg diameter?

Use a set of calipers or a tape measure across the widest part of the leg. This product is strictly for 36mm systems.

Does the leg come with a locking mechanism?

The leg utilizes the locking mechanism integrated into the seatbox chassis itself.

How do I prevent the leg from sinking in soft mud?

Ensure you are using large-diameter mud feet attached to the bottom of the leg, which are standard for most coarse fishing setups.

Troubleshooting

Leg is difficult to extend or retract

Clean the inner leg section with a damp cloth to remove dried mud or grit, then allow it to dry thoroughly.

Leg slips when weight is applied

Ensure the seatbox locking wheel is fully tightened and inspect the housing for any debris preventing a secure grip.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To install the leg, simply loosen the seatbox leg locking wheel, slide the 36mm leg into the housing, and tighten the wheel until secure. Ensure the leg is fully seated before loading the box with gear.

Compatibility: This leg is exclusively compatible with the Preston Absolute 5G seatbox range. Verify your seatbox model before purchase to ensure the 36mm housing is present.

Care Instructions: After fishing in wet or muddy conditions, wipe the leg down with a damp cloth to remove grit. If mud enters the telescopic mechanism, rinse with clean water and let it dry completely before retracting to prevent seized components. Periodically check the locking mechanism to ensure no debris has built up inside the housing.
