Product Information
Full details
Runner Bean 'Celebration' is a vibrant addition to any garden, producing abundant crops of tender, bright green beans. These beans are characterized by their smooth flesh, minimal strings, and delicious flavour, making them perfect for culinary use. The plant itself is attractive, bearing elegant peachy-pink blooms throughout the summer, enhancing the visual appeal of kitchen garden borders. For optimal growth, provide a thick mulch of organic matter to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Regular watering, especially during flowering, and a bi-weekly liquid feed in mid-summer will promote healthy development. Pinching out the tips of the beans when they reach the top of their supports encourages continued cropping. Harvesting can begin in July; picking beans regularly at a young stage ensures the best quality and prolongs the cropping period. Runner beans are suitable for freezing. It's important to cook runner beans before consumption to avoid any discomfort. Ideal for kitchen gardens, this half-hardy variety thrives in full sun, reaching heights of up to 300cm and spreading up to 30cm. Supplied as one packet of 40 seeds with growing and care instructions. Companion planting with sweet peas can attract pollinators, while nasturtiums can help deter aphids.
