Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Plant 'Boo Boo' in moist to wet soil. It can be planted directly into the ground, pond baskets, or directly into pond substrate at the margins. Ensure adequate spacing if you do not want it to spread too quickly.
Compatibility:
This plant thrives in moist soil conditions and is compatible with other marginal aquatic plants and moisture-loving perennials. It is suitable for bog gardens, pond edges, and damp perennial borders.
Care:
- Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. In ponds, it should be submerged shallowly or planted at the water's edge.
- Sunlight: Prefers partial shade but can tolerate full sun if the soil remains very moist.
- Pruning: Trim back any overgrown stems in late spring to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove dead foliage in autumn.
- Containment: To prevent aggressive spreading, consider planting in containers or using root barriers in garden beds.
