FAQs
What is the main advantage of the 17 mm core?
The 17 mm core provides a thicker, more cushioned sweet spot, leading to softer contact and increased control, especially for touch shots and volleys.
Who is the Head Gravity XCEED paddle best suited for?
This paddle is ideal for intermediate to advanced players who value control, finesse, and shot shaping over raw power. Players who focus on soft game, dinks, and strategic placement will benefit most.
How does SpinOn technology work?
SpinOn technology is integrated into the paddle's surface to enhance its ability to grip the ball, allowing players to generate more spin on their shots.
Is the fiberglass hitting surface durable?
Fiberglass is generally durable for pickleball use, offering a good balance of performance and longevity. However, like all paddle surfaces, it can be damaged by impacts or improper care.
What is the weight of the paddle?
The Head Gravity XCEED weighs approximately 232 grams (8.2 oz).
Can I use this paddle for power shots?
While the paddle can generate power, its design emphasizes control and touch. Players seeking maximum power might find other paddles with thinner cores or different hitting surfaces more suitable.
Troubleshooting
Paddle feels too soft or lacks responsiveness.
This is a characteristic of the paddle's design, prioritizing control. Ensure you are using proper technique to generate power. For more responsive feel, consider paddles with a thinner core or different hitting surface materials.
Grip feels slippery.
Ensure the grip is clean and dry. If it continues to be slippery, consider using an overgrip or a grip enhancer spray.
Reduced spin on shots.
Make sure the paddle surface is clean and free of debris. Proper stroke mechanics are crucial for imparting spin; consult a coach if needed. SpinOn technology enhances natural spin, but doesn't replace technique.
