Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup: Upon receiving the Trek FX+ 7, basic assembly is typically required, including attaching the handlebars, pedals, and front wheel. It is highly recommended to have the bike assembled and checked by a qualified bicycle mechanic to ensure all components are correctly installed and adjusted for safety and optimal performance. Ensure the battery is fully charged before your first ride.
Compatibility:
- Tires: The bike is designed for paved surfaces and light gravel paths. Tire size and type can be discussed with a Trek dealer for potential upgrades or replacements.
- Accessories: Standard bicycle accessories like water bottle cages, pannier racks (if compatible mounts are available), and bike locks can be used. Check specific accessory compatibility with your dealer.
- Charging: The 360 Wh battery uses a specific charger. Use only the provided charger to avoid damaging the battery.
Care:
- Cleaning: Clean the frame and components with mild soap and water using a soft cloth. Avoid high-pressure washing, especially around the motor and battery.
- Battery: Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures. Regularly check the battery contacts for cleanliness.
- Drivetrain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated. Regular maintenance of the drivetrain will ensure smooth shifting.
- Brakes: Periodically inspect brake pads and rotors for wear. Ensure hydraulic brake levers feel firm and do not pull to the handlebar.
- Storage: Store the bike in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and harsh weather conditions when not in use.
