Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
This raised garden bed requires assembly. Typically, the panels will need to be connected using provided hardware. Ensure you have a level surface before beginning construction. It is recommended to place the bed in its final location before filling it with soil, as it will be very heavy once assembled and filled.
Compatibility:
The bed is designed to be placed directly on the ground. It is compatible with various soil types; however, for optimal results, filling it with a high-quality soil mix is recommended. The open bottom ensures compatibility with existing soil layers, allowing for deeper root penetration if desired and providing access to earthworms and natural soil microbes. It is compatible with most standard garden tools for planting and maintenance.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth as needed to remove dirt and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the galvanized finish.
- Maintenance: Periodically check all assembly hardware and tighten if necessary. The galvanized steel is rust-resistant, but prolonged exposure to highly acidic conditions or constant saturation without airflow could eventually affect the coating.
- Winter Care: In colder climates, ensure the bed is empty or has minimal soil to prevent frost heave issues, although the robust construction is designed to withstand harsh conditions.
