The VENTS UK Cowled Air Vent Wall Grill is designed for homeowners and contractors seeking a reliable, low-maintenance solution for external ventilation needs such as cooker hoods, bathrooms, and extractor fans. It provides the key benefit of a gravity-controlled backdraught shutter to stop cold air from entering the property while maintaining consistent airflow. Note that while the durable plastic construction is weather-resistant, it should be installed in a location protected from heavy debris or direct impact to ensure the longevity of the moving shutter flap.

No, screws are not typically included as the mounting hardware depends on your specific wall material (brick, wood, or render).
Yes, it is perfectly suitable for bathroom extractor fan outlets.
The vent is made of durable plastic; while it can be painted, it is already finished in a standard, sleek black color.
Ensure the vent is mounted completely level. Any misalignment can cause the shutter to hang loosely.
The spigot is designed for a standard 150 mm ducting pipe.
This is a common characteristic of mechanical shutters. Ensure no debris is obstructing the hinge, and check that the unit is perfectly vertical to ensure the weight of the flap rests fully closed.
Check the hinge area for dust buildup or debris. Cleaning the pivot points with a soft brush usually restores full movement.
To install, ensure your existing ducting is 150 mm in diameter. Align the rear spigot with your wall ducting and secure the flange to the exterior masonry or siding using appropriate screws and sealant to prevent water ingress. Periodic care is simple: inspect the unit annually to remove any dust or spider webs that may have collected around the flap hinge to ensure it remains free-moving. If you live in an area prone to coastal salt air or heavy pollution, a quick wipe down with a damp cloth will maintain the black finish.
