Setup, Compatibility & Care
When working with this fabric, ensure you use a sharp, fresh sewing needle to prevent the velvet from pulling. Because of the delicate pile, use a walking foot if your machine has one to help feed the fabric evenly through the feed dogs. Regarding care, the fabric must be dry cleaned to preserve the integrity of the cotton pile and the richness of the red color. Avoid ironing directly on the front side of the fabric; if ironing is necessary, use a press cloth and iron from the reverse side on a low steam setting to avoid crushing the velvet fibers.
