Product Information

Full details

The MAC Cosmetics Lipglazer is designed for individuals seeking a versatile lip product that combines the precision of a liner with the hydrated, high-shine finish of a gloss. It is an ideal choice for those who want to achieve fuller-looking, moisturized lips in a single application, though users should note that the gel-cream texture may require occasional reapplication throughout the day compared to matte long-wear alternatives.

FAQs

Can I use the Lipglazer over a matte lipstick?

Yes, it can be applied over other lip products to add shine and hydration, though it may alter the wear time of the base lipstick.

Is the formula sticky like a traditional lip gloss?

No, the Lipglazer is specifically formulated to be non-sticky while providing a high-shine, glossy effect.

Does it require a lip primer?

A primer is not required as the formula contains nourishing oils, but you can use one if you have particularly dry lips.

How often should I reapply?

For best results and to maintain the satin sheen, reapply after eating or drinking.

Is this product suitable for sensitive skin?

The inclusion of jojoba and dandelion seed oils makes it generally gentle, but always patch-test if you have known ingredient sensitivities.

Does the color layer well?

Yes, you can build the color from a soft, sheer wash to a more intense, saturated look by applying additional layers.

Troubleshooting

The pencil tip breaks easily during application.

The gel-cream texture is soft. Use a light hand when applying and do not extend too much of the product from the casing.

The product is difficult to sharpen.

Place the pencil in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes before sharpening to firm up the gel-cream core.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Non-sticky feel during wear
Easy to apply with high precision
Hydrating formula prevents lip dryness
Multi-functional as both a liner and a filler
Instant plumping effect

Cons

Requires reapplication for long-lasting shine
Soft texture may wear down faster than hard pencils
Less durable than traditional matte lipsticks

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the best experience with your Lipglazer, store the product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as the heat can soften the gel-cream core. For application, ensure your lips are clean and dry for maximum adherence. If you need a sharper tip for precise lining, use a high-quality cosmetic pencil sharpener compatible with gel formulas to avoid breakage. Cap the product tightly after every use to prevent the formula from drying out.
