Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install these fittings, you must first have the correct 1/4 inch brake tubing and a professional-grade flaring tool.
- Cut your brake line to the desired length.
- Slide the fitting onto the tubing before performing the flare.
- Create a clean, double-flare or bubble-flare (as required by the specific connection type) on the end of the tubing.
- Thread the fitting into the corresponding port by hand initially to avoid cross-threading.
- Tighten with a flare nut wrench to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications.
Regularly inspect fittings for signs of moisture or weeping. Because brass is a softer metal than steel, avoid overtightening, which can strip the threads or distort the seat.
