Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Site Selection: Choose a level, well-drained area with good sunlight exposure.
- Ground Tube Installation: Securely fix the larger galvanized steel ground tubes into the soil according to the provided instructions. This is a critical step for stability.
- Frame Assembly: Assemble the straight-sided frame using the provided cast iron fixings and other components. Ensure all connections are tight.
- Cover Installation: Carefully drape the XL Horticulture SunMaster Polythene Cover over the frame. Secure it firmly to the base using the designated methods, ensuring it is taut to prevent flapping.
- Finishing Touches: Install any doors or ventilation options as per the manual.
Compatibility:
The polytunnel is designed as a standalone structure. While it doesn't require specific external compatibility, ensure your chosen location is free from overhead obstructions and has adequate space for the structure's footprint and access.
Care:
- Cleaning the Cover: Periodically clean the polythene cover with mild soap and water using a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or brushes that could damage the surface.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the frame and cover for any signs of wear, damage, or loose fixings. Tighten fixings as needed.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation during warm periods to prevent overheating and reduce humidity, which can lead to condensation issues.
- Winter Care: While the structure is robust, consider removing heavy snow accumulations to prevent excessive weight stress on the frame and cover.
