Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup: Installation involves mounting the suspension units to the trailer chassis, typically requiring drilling and bolting through the chassis frame. Ensure the suspension unit mounting holes (76mm along length, 78mm across width) align correctly with your trailer frame. Attach the hubs to the stub axles of the suspension units, install the bearings (including seals) into the hubs, and then fit the wheel assemblies (wheels with tires and nuts) onto the hubs. Ensure wheel nuts are tightened to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
Compatibility: This kit is designed for trailers with a maximum gross weight of 350kg. Key dimensions to verify for compatibility are:
- Stub axle size: 1" diameter, 2" long bearing surface.
- Suspension mounting hole spacing: 76mm (lengthwise) and 78mm (widthwise).
- Hub PCD: 4 inches.
Care: To ensure longevity, regularly inspect the wheels, tires, and suspension units for any signs of wear or damage. Keep the hubs clean and lubricate the bearings as per the bearing manufacturer's recommendations, or at least annually. Check tire pressures regularly. After washing the trailer, ensure no water is trapped within the hub assemblies. The galvanized finish should be maintained by avoiding abrasive cleaners that could scratch the protective layer.
