Get set for a fabulous summer of colour with this long-flowering Agapanthus ‘Poppin Purple’. What makes this variety extra special is its habit of reblooming throughout the summer, providing you with a longer season of interest than many other Agapanthus types. ‘Poppin Purple’ is also an evergreen variety, meaning the foliage doesn’t die down to leave bare soil over the winter. Domed flower clusters sit at the top of sturdy, upright stems. The buds are deep purple before opening to reveal blooms in a beautiful shade of violet - the overall effect is a beautiful two-tone mauve display. A compact plant, ideal for narrow sunny borders and patio pots. Grow Agapanthus plants in rich, fertile, well-drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers, use a soil-based compost. Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blackens the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container-grown plants can be moved to a frost-free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become overcrowded. Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 60cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 45cm when fully established.
