Setup, Compatibility & Care
Preparation is crucial for optimal performance. Ensure all surfaces are dry, clean, and free from dust, wax, and loose materials. For concrete and stone, remove oil and grease using appropriate cleaners and wash thoroughly, allowing ample drying time. Concrete must be at least four weeks old before painting. If applying over existing coatings, conduct a test patch to confirm adhesion and compatibility. Very porous surfaces should be sealed first with a Floor Sealer or a diluted mixture of the Protex paint (4 parts paint to 1 part White Spirit).
Application: Stir the paint thoroughly before use. If adding Safe Grip Additive, stir it in and continue to stir frequently during application to prevent settling. Apply using a brush or a suitable roller. The first coat typically dries in 3-4 hours at 20°C (68°F).
Drying & Recoating: A second coat can be applied after approximately 12 hours under normal conditions. Ensure recoating occurs within 48 hours. The painted area should be completely dry before resuming use.
Care: Clean spills promptly. The surface is easy to maintain with regular sweeping and occasional washing with mild detergents. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
