Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility:
These starters are designed for use with fluorescent tubes ranging from 4 watts (W) up to 65W. They are not compatible with LED tubes or other non-fluorescent lighting technologies.
Setup:
- Safety First: Always turn off the power to the light fixture at the main switch or fuse box before beginning.
- Access the Starter: Locate the starter. It is typically a small cylindrical component with two pins, often found in a socket near one end of the fluorescent tube.
- Remove Old Starter: Gently twist the old starter counter-clockwise and pull it out.
- Insert New Starter: Align the pins of the new Philips S10 starter with the socket and push it in. Twist it clockwise until it locks into place.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on and test the light.
Care:
Starters are passive components and generally require no active care. However, ensure the area around the starter socket is clean and free of dust or debris during installation. Avoid touching the pins with bare hands. Store unused starters in a dry place.
