No, these handles are designed for a tool-free installation. You only need to feed the cord through and tie a knot.
They are designed for standard household pull cords. Ensure your cord is not excessively thick before installation.
Regularly wipe the wood with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that might strip the wood finish.
Ensure you have tied a secure, large-enough knot at the end of your cord to prevent it from pulling through the handle hole.
Check that the cord is not frayed; trim the frayed end and re-tie a fresh knot to ensure a tight, secure fit within the handle base.
Installation requires no tools; simply thread your existing pull cord through the center hole of the handle and secure it with a knot inside the cavity at the base of the handle. To ensure a long lifespan, wipe the wood with a soft, dry cloth periodically to remove dust. If installed in a bathroom, avoid direct, prolonged water contact to preserve the wood finish. These handles are compatible with most standard nylon or cotton pull cords typically found on residential light switches and ceiling fans.
