Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your fabric, pre-washing is essential to account for the natural shrinkage inherent in cotton waffle weaves. Always wash in cool to lukewarm water and air dry or tumble dry on a low setting to maintain the integrity of the honeycomb texture.
When cutting, place the fabric on a flat, non-slip surface and use pattern weights rather than heavy pins to prevent distortion. Use a long stitch length for seams to accommodate the stretchiness of the waffle pattern. For best results, use an overlocker or a zigzag stitch on raw edges to minimize fraying. Avoid heavy ironing directly on the face of the fabric; instead, use a steam press from a distance or an iron on a low setting to avoid flattening the raised texture.
