Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install the lock, ensure your trailer hitch is clean and free of debris. Slide the body of the lock into the hitch head cavity. Align the holes and insert the 12mm locking bar through the mechanism, then turn the key to engage the lock. Always ensure the key is fully turned before removing it to ensure the bar is secure.
Compatibility is broad, fitting almost all standard pressed steel hitches. However, as noted, this model will not fit modern hitches equipped with integral friction stabilizers, as those hitch heads are physically too large for the lock body. To maintain the device, apply a light silicone-based lubricant to the keyhole periodically to prevent internal corrosion and ensure smooth locking action, especially if the lock is stored outside in wet conditions.
