Yes, the lid is secure but removable to allow for periodic cleaning and inspection.
The water butt measures 280mm in length, 370mm in width, and 360mm in height.
It is recommended to drain the butt in winter to prevent damage caused by freezing water.
Check that the tap is tightened correctly and that the internal washer is seated properly.
Verify that your downpipe diverter is correctly installed and free from blockages like leaves or debris.
Ensure the water butt is placed on a perfectly level, solid surface. Consider purchasing the compatible stand if the surface is uneven.
To set up the Garland 30 Litre Water Butt, place it on a stable, level surface near your desired downpipe. Because the unit is compact, ensure you have compatible downpipe diversion kits ready to channel rainwater into the lid opening. Maintenance is straightforward: periodically remove the lid to inspect the interior for sediment buildup and rinse the container with clean water once per season. When cleaning, avoid using harsh chemicals that could be harmful to your plants if they leach into your stored water supply. During winter months, it is advisable to drain the water butt completely to prevent damage from freezing temperatures.
