FAQs

What are the internal dimensions of the drawers?

Each drawer has internal dimensions of W33.5 x D24.5 x H15.5 cm.

Can I stack multiple units?

The unit is designed to fit into modular shelving, so while you can place them next to each other, they are not strictly designed to be stackable without a supporting frame.

Is the walnut wood sustainably sourced?

MUJI prioritizes natural materials; however, variations in grain and tone are inherent to the wood and should be expected.

How much weight can the top of the unit hold?

The top plate has a maximum load capacity of 5kg.

Is the drawer unit pre-assembled?

Yes, the unit arrives fully assembled and ready to be placed into your shelving system.

Troubleshooting

Drawer feels sticky or difficult to slide

Check for debris in the internal tracks or ensure the unit is on a perfectly flat surface; avoid overloading beyond the 3kg capacity.

Surface marks or fingerprints

The acrylic resin coating is easily cleaned with a microfiber cloth; avoid harsh chemical cleaners which can degrade the finish.

Wobbling when used as a standalone unit

Ensure the floor or desk surface is level; if necessary, use thin felt pads under the unit to stabilize it.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Seamless integration with MUJI modular shelving systems
High-quality walnut aesthetic with durable resin finish
Compact dimensions ideal for small rooms or bedside tables
Practical weight capacity for everyday items

Cons

Natural wood grain variations may not match perfectly if multiple units are placed side-by-side
Limited to 3kg weight capacity per drawer
Designed specifically for proprietary shelving dimensions

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This unit arrives ready to use. To maintain the appearance and structural integrity of the walnut, follow these guidelines:

Placement: Ensure the unit is placed on a level surface. If inserting into modular shelving, confirm the shelf width matches the W37 cm unit width.
Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. For tougher stains, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then immediately dry the area to prevent moisture absorption.
Care: Avoid placing the unit in direct, prolonged sunlight or near heat sources to prevent the natural wood from warping or fading.
Expectations: Embrace the natural variance in wood grain and color tone as a characteristic feature of the walnut material rather than a defect.
