Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the engine is cool before draining old oil.
- Locate and remove the oil drain plug, allowing old oil to fully drain.
- Replace the oil drain plug with a new washer if necessary.
- Remove the old oil filter.
- Lubricate the rubber seal on the new oil filter with a small amount of new engine oil.
- Screw the new oil filter on by hand until the seal makes contact, then tighten an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn (follow filter manufacturer's instructions).
- Add the specified amount of Castrol GTX 0w-20 RN17 FE to the engine through the oil filler cap.
- Replace the oil filler cap.
- Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes, checking for leaks around the drain plug and filter.
- Turn off the engine, wait a few minutes, and check the oil level with the dipstick, topping up if necessary.
Compatibility:
This oil is designed for use in a wide range of modern engines that specify a 0w-20 viscosity grade and meet the RN17 FE specification. Always consult your vehicle's owner's manual to confirm the correct oil specification and viscosity grade required for your specific engine. Using the incorrect oil can lead to engine damage.
Care:
- Store the oil container in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Keep the container tightly sealed when not in use to prevent contamination.
- Dispose of used engine oil responsibly at an authorized recycling center. Do not pour used oil down drains or onto the ground.
