The device comes ready to use out of the box with an LR44 button cell battery pre-installed. To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, simply press the dedicated unit button. For maintenance, wipe the stainless steel probe with a damp, soapy cloth after every use. Do not put the thermometer in the dishwasher, as the high heat and water pressure will damage the electronic components. Ensure the battery compartment is kept dry and replace the cell if the 'low voltage' indicator appears on the display.
