Setup, Compatibility & Care
To prepare the rebar for installation, use a steel-cutting angle grinder or heavy-duty manual bolt cutters to achieve the required dimensions. For the best structural results, the rebar should be clean, free of loose rust, mud, or oil that could impede the mechanical bond with the concrete.
When storing, keep the bars off the ground in a dry area to prevent excessive surface corrosion. While light oxidation (flash rust) is generally acceptable as it can actually improve the bonding grip, deep flaking rust should be avoided. Use wire ties or rebar chairs to secure the grid in place before pouring your concrete to ensure the steel does not shift during the curing process.
