Full details

The OBOR Predator ATV tyre set is ideal for off-road enthusiasts and UTV owners seeking a balance between rugged durability and road-legal compliance. Featuring an 8-ply radial construction, these tyres provide exceptional puncture resistance for demanding terrains while maintaining a comfortable ride. FAQs

Are these tyres legal for road use?

Yes, each OBOR Predator tyre in this set is E-marked, confirming they meet legal requirements for road use in the UK and Europe.

What is the maximum load capacity for these tyres?

Each individual tyre is rated for a maximum load capacity of 211kg.

Does the 8-ply construction make the ride harsh?

While the 8-ply radial construction is stiff for durability, the integrated siping and multi-pitch tread pattern are specifically designed to enhance ride comfort and minimize noise.

Can I use these on a 15-inch rim?

No, these tyres are specifically designed for 14-inch rims. Using them on incorrect rim sizes will cause failure and is unsafe.

What is the overall diameter of the tyre?

The overall diameter of these tyres is 690mm.

Why are these sold as a set of three?

This set is configured for specific three-wheeled utility vehicles or specialized off-road equipment that requires this specific quantity.

Troubleshooting

Excessive tyre vibration at high speeds

Ensure the tyres are properly balanced by a professional shop and confirm the inflation pressure is exactly 22 PSI.

Uneven tread wear

Check the vehicle suspension alignment and ensure that the tyres are not being operated consistently outside the recommended 22 PSI range.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High-load capacity of 211kg per tyre
  • Excellent puncture resistance due to 8-ply rating
  • Road-legal in UK and Europe
  • Reduced noise levels during pavement driving

Cons

  • Sold as a set of three, which may not fit standard four-wheeled ATVs
  • Requires careful monitoring of the 22 PSI inflation rating
  • Specific 27x11.00R14 sizing limits compatibility with smaller rims

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure peak performance and longevity, always have these tyres professionally mounted by an experienced technician to avoid damaging the bead. Verify that your vehicle rim size is exactly 14 inches to ensure a proper seal.

Maintenance Tips:

  • Pressure Management: Keep tyres inflated to the recommended 22 PSI. Over-inflation can cause premature centre-tread wear, while under-inflation may lead to sidewall flex and heat buildup.
  • Regular Inspection: Check for debris embedded in the tread blocks after heavy trail use.
  • Storage: Store out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry place to prevent rubber degradation when not in use.
