FAQs

What is the main purpose of Météorites Compact Powder?

Its main purpose is to set makeup, blur imperfections, mattify the complexion, and provide a multidimensional matte finish with a lightweight feel.

How do I choose the right shade for my skin tone?

Guerlain offers specific harmonies: 01 Translucent for fairest skin, 02 Cool for light skin, 03 Warm for medium skin, and 04 Amber for dark skin. Each blend corrects and evens out the complexion based on these tones.

Can this powder be used on dry skin?

While it provides a matte finish, its lightweight and blurring properties can work for dry skin if the skin is well-moisturized. However, those with very dry skin might prefer a more luminous finishing powder.

What does 'multidimensional matte' mean?

It means the matte finish isn't flat; it subtly reflects light in a way that smooths and perfects the skin without appearing dull or chalky.

How often can I reapply this powder?

You can reapply it throughout the day as needed to touch up shine and refresh your makeup. Its lightweight nature allows for reapplication without caking.

Is the Météorites Compact Powder refillable?

Based on the provided information, there is no mention of the compact being refillable. It is described as a precious beauty object and collector's item.

What is the Météorites fragrance?

The powder is enriched with the iconic Météorites fragrance, which is a blend of violet with notes of musky sandalwood and vanilla.

Troubleshooting

Powder appears too chalky or visible on the skin.

Ensure you are using a light hand and a soft brush. Tap off excess powder from the brush before application. Consider if the shade is the best match for your skin tone.

Product does not seem to set makeup effectively.

Apply as the final step after foundation and concealer. Ensure the skin is well-prepped and moisturized. For more intense setting, consider a different powder or product.

The iconic fragrance is too strong.

The fragrance is a signature element. If sensitive, test the product in-store or apply a very light layer. The scent typically dissipates once applied.

Compact case is difficult to open or close.

Ensure there is no powder residue around the clasp mechanism. Gently clean the edges of the case. If the issue persists, the mechanism might be damaged.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: No complex setup is required. The Météorites Compact Powder is ready to use upon purchase. It is recommended to use a dedicated Guerlain Météorites brush for optimal application and blending.

Compatibility: This powder is designed to be used as a setting and finishing powder after foundation or as a touch-up product throughout the day. It is compatible with most foundation types and skincare routines. Specific shades are designed for different skin tones (01 Translucent for fairest, 02 Cool for light, 03 Warm for medium, 04 Amber for dark).

Care: To maintain the quality of the powder and its case:

Cleaning the Powder: Avoid using water or liquid cleaners on the powder itself. If the brush picks up too much product, gently tap the brush on a tissue.
Cleaning the Case: The outer compact can be wiped gently with a soft, dry cloth. For any stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive materials.
Storage: Store the compact in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to preserve its integrity and fragrance.
