This is the Continental Gator Hardshell 700C Duraskin Wired Road Tyre. After extensive market research, feedback from commuters all over world showed Continental that a new type of tyre was in demand. Their Gatorskin race bike tyre had filled a gap for hardcore commuters but they wanted more; MORE casing; MORE breaker; MORE protection. Taking the Gatorskin as their base, they've added a third Polyamide layer in the sidewall to make a unique 3-ply casing for the Gator Hardshell. They've also added a wider Poly-X anti puncture breaker belt under the tread which extends down into the shoulder area for wider coverage. Add this to the Duraskin anti-tear mesh on the outside of the casing and you are presented with a tougher commuter which is also fast. This tyre offers a perfectly balanced blend of ride quality and long-term durability with bead to bead protection of DuraSkin® and an extra wide PolyX Breaker®. Added material under the tread strip improves mileage and puncture protection. This is a rigid option with a width of 23mm, TPI of 3/180 and weight of 330g (700 x 23mm rigid).
