FAQs
Is the assembly process difficult?
It is a comprehensive build requiring tools and at least two people, but it is manageable by following the provided step-by-step instructions.
Does this bed frame require a box spring?
No, the bed features an integrated slatted base that provides sufficient support, eliminating the need for a box spring.
What type of storage can I fit underneath?
The storage area is ideal for flat items like bedding, pillows, seasonal clothing, or luggage.
How do I clean the beige fabric?
Use a vacuum with an upholstery brush to remove surface dust, and use a slightly damp cloth to dab (not rub) any stains.
Can the bed be moved easily once built?
Due to the hydraulic mechanism and the weight of the frame, it is recommended to fully disassemble the bed before attempting to move it to a different room.
Are there other color options available?
The Nela model is currently focused on a beige color palette to offer a timeless, neutral look.
Troubleshooting
Ottoman base does not stay in the raised position
Ensure a mattress of appropriate weight is placed on the frame, as the gas struts require weight to maintain balance.
Squeaking noises during movement
Check all bolts and connection points, and tighten any loose fittings found in the internal frame structure.
Difficulty lifting the bed
Check that the mattress is perfectly centered and verify that no items are obstructing the lift mechanism underneath the frame.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Assembly of the Nela Ottoman Bed is best completed with two people due to the size and weight of the frame components. Ensure all hardware is tightened according to the included manual to prevent squeaking. This bed is compatible with most standard-sized mattresses; ensure your mattress weight falls within the recommended range for the hydraulic struts to function safely. To care for the upholstery, vacuum the fabric periodically with an upholstery attachment to remove dust. Spot clean any spills immediately with a damp, soft cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals that may discolor the beige fabric.
