This food is formulated specifically for weight reduction and metabolic support; it is best to consult your vet before feeding it to cats without weight concerns.
Yes, the increased fiber content and the use of psyllium husk can help support healthy digestion and provide relief for mild constipation.
Yes, the formula contains slow-release glucose properties, which can be beneficial for managing blood sugar levels in diabetic cats.
The duration depends on your cat's weight loss progress; your veterinarian will determine when it is safe to transition to a maintenance diet.
You can mix it with dry food if your veterinarian approves, but ensure that the total caloric intake remains within the recommended daily allowance.
The formula uses quality ingredients like pork, white fish, and psyllium husk to meet nutritional needs, but you should check the label or ask your vet if you are concerned about specific grain sensitivities.
Try warming the food slightly to release aromas or mix in a small amount of warm water, and ensure the transition period is gradual.
Slow down the transition process by adding smaller amounts of the new food over a longer period.
Transitioning to this diet should always be done gradually over 7 to 10 days by mixing increasing amounts of Specific FRW with the cat's previous food. Since this is a clinical diet, it is vital to follow the feeding guidelines provided by your veterinarian based on your cat's target weight. Always ensure your cat has access to fresh, clean drinking water at all times. Store unopened pouches in a cool, dry place. Once a pouch is opened, it should be covered and refrigerated, and any unused portion should be served within 24 hours.
