Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Insert Shank: Ensure your Dremel Multi-Tool is unplugged or powered off. Loosen the collet nut and insert the 3.2 mm shank of the grinding stone fully into the collet.
- Tighten Securely: Hand-tighten the collet nut, then use the collet wrench to tighten it firmly. A securely fastened accessory prevents wobbling and ensures safety.
- Adjust RPM: Set your Dremel Multi-Tool to an appropriate speed, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum recommended RPM of 25,000 1/min for the 952 Grinding Stone. Start at a lower speed and gradually increase as needed, observing how the material reacts.
Compatibility
The Dremel 952 Grinding Stones are designed for use with Dremel Multi-Tools that accept a 3.2 mm shank diameter. They are part of the Dremel accessory system, ensuring seamless integration with your existing Dremel rotary tool.
Care
- Clean After Use: After each use, gently clean any accumulated debris or material dust from the grinding stone using a wire brush or a stiff bristled brush. This prevents clogging and maintains grinding efficiency.
- Inspect for Wear: Regularly inspect the stone for signs of excessive wear, chipping, or cracking. A worn or damaged stone can be ineffective and potentially unsafe. Replace worn stones promptly.
- Proper Storage: Store the grinding stones in their original packaging or a dedicated accessory case to protect them from damage and moisture. Keep them in a dry place.
- Dressing the Stone: If the grinding surface becomes glazed or clogged with material, you can 'dress' it using a Dremel dressing stone (sold separately) to expose fresh abrasive particles and restore cutting efficiency.
