Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using the WD-40 Flexible Straw is straightforward:
- Preparation: Shake the can well before use.
- Precision Spray: For targeted application, simply keep the flexible straw in its upright position. You can bend and shape it to reach the exact spot you need.
- Wide Spray: For broader coverage, flip the flexible straw down parallel to the can. The spray will then dispense in a wider pattern.
Compatibility
WD-40 Multi-Use Product is generally safe for use on most metals, alloys, and painted surfaces when applied as directed. It's also suitable for many types of plastics and rubbers, but it's always advisable to test on an inconspicuous area first if you are unsure, as some specific types of delicate plastics or rubber compounds might react differently. Avoid using it on clear polycarbonate plastics, as it may cause hazing.
Care
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your WD-40 can:
- Storage: Store the can in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and temperatures exceeding 50°C (120°F).
- Nozzle Maintenance: If the nozzle becomes clogged, gently wipe it with a cloth. If the flexible straw gets blocked, you can try to clear it with a thin wire or replace it if necessary (though the straw is designed to be durable).
- Disposal: Dispose of empty cans according to local regulations for aerosol products.
