Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Ensure the existing step surface is clean, dry, and free from loose debris, oil, or grease. For optimal adhesion, a suitable industrial-grade adhesive (not included) is recommended. Apply adhesive evenly to the back of the tread or the step surface according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. Position the tread firmly onto the step, ensuring full contact. For maximum security, mechanical fixings (screws or rivets, not included) can be used in conjunction with adhesive, particularly in very high-traffic or exposed areas. Always follow the adhesive manufacturer's guidelines for curing times before allowing foot traffic.
Compatibility: Slips Away GRP Stair Tread Covers are designed to be retrofitted onto most common step materials including concrete, steel, and timber. They are suitable for a variety of step profiles and sizes, but precise measurement is recommended before purchase.
Care: Regular cleaning with water and mild detergent is recommended to maintain slip resistance. Avoid using harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners that could damage the GRP surface or the anti-slip aggregate. Periodically inspect the treads for any signs of damage or loosening, and re-secure if necessary.
