The plates have a 50mm x 25mm modular RJ45 CAT6a keystone socket that can be labelled. They are designed for networking purposes over distances up to 100m/328ft at speeds of 10GBps and follow the TIA/EIA-568-B UTP wiring layout. The IDC termination points fit standard single back boxes, and fixing screws/accessories are supplied. No punch-down tool is required for installation. These network outlet faceplates are ideal for cables run between rooms, under floors, and behind walls. Wires are attached to IDC terminals at the back of the sockets via a tool-less push-fit connection that pierces the wire's insulation. Colour-coded terminals simplify wiring. To install, strip a short section of the CAT6 cable insulation, follow the colour-coded labels on the push termination cap, push the correct cores into each terminal, and then push the cap down to crimp the cores. For shielded cables, expose some of the shield and ensure it makes contact with the metal shell when closing the connector. Wiring can be either 'straight through' or 'cro'.
