Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Elbow Grease Citric Acid is a granular product that requires mixing with water before use. The included scoop helps with measurement.
- Determine Your Task: Identify whether you are descaling an appliance, removing stains, or general cleaning.
- Dilution: For most tasks, start with a solution of 1 scoop per 500ml - 1 liter of warm water. For heavier descaling or stubborn stains, you might increase the concentration to 2-3 scoops per liter. Always use warm water to help the granules dissolve faster.
- Mix Thoroughly: Stir the solution until the citric acid is completely dissolved. For pastes, add just enough water to create a thick consistency.
- Patch Test: Before applying to any new surface, always test the solution on an inconspicuous area first to ensure no discoloration or damage occurs.
Compatibility
Elbow Grease Citric Acid is generally safe for many common household materials, but its acidic nature makes it unsuitable for others.
- Safe For: Stainless steel, ceramics, glass, porcelain, chrome (brief exposure), and most plastics.
- Avoid On: Natural stone (marble, granite, travertine), unsealed grout, cast iron, aluminum, brass, copper, and any surfaces with delicate or worn finishes. Acids can etch or discolor these materials.
- Always Check: If unsure, always perform a small spot test.
Care and Storage
- Storage: Store the 250g tub in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed after each use to prevent clumping and maintain product efficacy.
- Safety: Keep out of reach of children and pets. Although natural, it is an acid and can cause irritation if it comes into contact with eyes or skin. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water.
- Handling: Use the included scoop for dispensing to avoid direct skin contact. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
