The Army Painter Monster Chipping Brush Set is designed for hobbyists and modelers looking to quickly and realistically weather large surfaces. Its firm, durable foam tips excel at creating natural-looking chips, scuffs, and abrasion effects on models like tanks, walkers, buildings, and terrain. While effective for broad coverage, users should be mindful of the foam's specific application to avoid overly uniform results.

The primary use is for quickly and realistically applying weathering effects such as chips, scuffs, and abrasion across large surfaces of models like tanks, buildings, and terrain.
Due to the large foam tips, they are not ideal for very fine detail work. They are best suited for broader weathering effects on larger model components.
The set includes 2 brushes.
They are compatible with most acrylic model paints. Thinning the paint slightly is recommended for best results. Avoid solvent-based paints.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water immediately after use. For stubborn paint, use a mild brush cleaner or soap solution, followed by a thorough rinse. Allow to air dry.
While optimized for chips and scuffs, the foam can be used for stippling effects to create general texture, like rough surfaces or dust accumulation, on larger areas.
The foam tips are integrated into the brush and are not designed to be replaceable. Proper care will extend the life of the brushes.
This can happen with new foam. Gently brush off any loose particles before use. Ensure you are not scrubbing too aggressively during application.
Ensure your paint is thinned appropriately. Try applying less pressure and using a stippling or dabbing motion rather than a brushing stroke. Consider using a lighter touch and building up the effect gradually.
This may indicate the use of incompatible paints (e.g., strong solvents) or excessive force during cleaning. Always use mild cleaners and gentle techniques. If significant damage occurs, it may be time to replace the brush.
Work in smaller sections. You can also use a retarder or a wet palette to keep the paint workable for longer. Wipe the foam lightly with a damp cloth if it starts to feel dry.
Setup:
These brushes require no specific setup. They are ready to use out of the pack. Ensure the foam tips are clean before your first use.
Compatibility:
Compatible with most acrylic model paints. For best results, use with paints that have been slightly thinned. Not recommended for use with solvent-based paints, as they may degrade the foam.
