Setup, Compatibility & Care
Planting
Choose a site that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. If your soil is heavy clay, mix in horticultural grit or sand to improve drainage. Dig a hole twice the width of the 1L pot and ensure the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil surface.
Ongoing Care
- Watering: Water regularly during the first growing season until established. Once established, only supplement during extreme, prolonged heat waves.
- Feeding: Generally does not require heavy fertilizing. A light dressing of organic compost in early spring is sufficient.
- Pruning: Cut back spent flower stems in late autumn or early spring to tidy the plant and encourage fresh basal growth.
- Compatibility: Pairs effectively with other sun-loving, drought-tolerant plants such as Lavender, Salvia, or Sedum.
