Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper preparation is essential for a flawless finish with Huguenot No.49. Before beginning, ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease.
- Preparation: Sand glossy surfaces lightly to provide a key for the paint to grip.
- Priming: To achieve the truest color and longevity, apply the recommended Dark Red Primer and Undercoat. This creates a uniform base that prevents the substrate from affecting the paint's final appearance.
- Application: Use high-quality brushes or rollers suitable for water-based paints. Apply in thin, even coats to avoid pooling, allowing for full drying time between layers.
- Care: Clean tools with water immediately after use. Since this is a dead matt finish, avoid aggressive scrubbing; if cleaning is necessary, use a soft, damp cloth and gentle dabbing motions to prevent burnishing the paint surface.
