Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup: Upon receiving the bike, it's recommended to have it assembled and inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic to ensure all components are properly installed and torqued. This includes the wheels, handlebars, saddle, and drivetrain.
Compatibility: The Domane+ ALR 5 is designed around its specific TQ HPR50 system. While it uses standard road bike components for the drivetrain and braking, ensure any electronic or battery-related accessories are compatible with the TQ system. Consult the Trek website or a dealer for specific accessory compatibility.
Care:
- Frame: Clean the aluminium frame with mild soap and water using a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Drivetrain: Regularly clean and lubricate the chain and cassette. The SRAM Apex drivetrain benefits from periodic derailleur adjustment.
- Battery: Follow the TQ system's charging guidelines. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods. Avoid extreme temperatures.
- General Maintenance: Perform regular checks on brakes, tire pressure, and bolts. Professional servicing every 6-12 months is recommended.
