This 3RG DPF FAP Fluid Particulate Additive Pouch is designed for owners of specific Citroen C4 I models (1.6/2.0 Hdi) requiring a replacement or top-up of their diesel particulate filter additive fluid. Its key benefit is helping to maintain the efficiency and longevity of your vehicle's Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system, reducing harmful emissions. A caveat is that precise compatibility must be verified using the provided Part Number (MPN) to ensure correct fitment for your specific vehicle and DPF system.

DPF FAP fluid, often referred to as Eolys or AdBlue alternative for older systems, is a specific additive used in diesel particulate filters (DPF) to help reduce the temperature at which soot burns off. This process, called regeneration, keeps the DPF from becoming clogged.
Symptoms may include a persistent DPF warning light, reduced engine power, increased fuel consumption, or specific error codes read by a diagnostic tool indicating low additive fluid level or DPF regeneration issues.
These pouches are typically designed as single-unit replacements rather than refillable containers. It's recommended to replace the entire pouch as per the manufacturer's design for the additive system to function correctly.
The MPN (Manufacturer Part Number) is crucial for ensuring you purchase the exact correct part for your vehicle's make, model, and year. Using the wrong part number can lead to system malfunction or damage.
The frequency of replacement depends on driving conditions and vehicle usage. The vehicle's system manages the additive fluid level, and replacement is typically needed when the additive fluid is depleted, often indicated by a dashboard warning light.
No, this DPF FAP fluid is distinct from AdBlue. AdBlue is used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to reduce NOx emissions, while this fluid is for Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) systems to aid in soot regeneration.
It is generally advisable to address a DPF warning light promptly. Driving with a clogged DPF can lead to further damage, reduced performance, and potentially costly repairs. Consult your vehicle's manual or a mechanic.
Ensure the correct MPN was used for compatibility. The vehicle's DPF system may require a diagnostic reset procedure after the additive pouch is replaced. Consult a qualified mechanic.
This could indicate a persistent DPF blockage or a fault in the additive system or DPF itself. Verify the additive pouch was correctly installed and filled, and that the ECU recognizes the new fluid. A diagnostic scan is recommended.
Check the connections and seals around the additive tank and the new pouch. Ensure the pouch was seated correctly and all securing mechanisms are in place. If leaks persist, the tank or associated lines may be damaged.
