This guide is for anyone using the Masterplug 4-socket extension lead. It helps you understand the features, setup, and care of your extension lead to maximize its lifespan and ensure safe use. A key benefit is the individual switches that allow for energy saving. Note that while the lead provides surge protection, it's essential to understand its limitations for very high-power events.

The Masterplug extension lead comes with a 1-year warranty.
The extension lead has a surge protection indicator light. If the light is on, the surge protection is active.
This extension lead is designed for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors or in damp environments.
The extension lead can handle a maximum load of 13A (3000W at 230V).
Immediately unplug the extension lead and allow it to dry completely before using it again. If there's any sign of damage, do not use it; replace it.
Individual switches allow you to control the power to each device independently, saving energy and preventing devices from drawing power when not in use.
Inspect the extension lead regularly, especially the cable, plugs, and sockets, for any signs of wear and tear or damage, ideally every few months.
Check the power supply, ensure the lead is properly plugged in, and verify the wall outlet is working. Check also the fuse in the plug.
Check the individual switch for that socket. Ensure the device's power cable is securely connected. Check the device itself.
If the surge protection indicator is not lit, it may indicate that the surge protection has been used. Consider replacing the extension lead.
Unplug some devices to reduce the load. Make sure the combined power draw of all connected devices doesn't exceed 13A.
The Masterplug extension lead is compatible with standard UK plugs and outlets. Ensure that the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed 13A (3000W at 230V).
