Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Samuel Alexander Garden Chairs are delivered flat-packed and require self-assembly. Follow these general steps:
- Unpack All Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and verify against the included instruction manual to ensure all pieces (frame sections, fabric, hardware) are present.
- Identify Parts: Lay out the steel frame components, textilene seat and back sections, and hardware (screws, washers, Allen key).
- Assemble the Frame: Follow the step-by-step instructions in the manual to connect the frame pieces. This typically involves attaching legs to the seat frame, then connecting the backrest. Use the provided hardware and tools.
- Attach Textilene: Secure the textilene fabric to the assembled frame, ensuring it is taut and properly aligned according to the manual. Make sure all screws are tightened securely, but avoid overtightening which could strip threads.
- Test Stability: Before initial use, gently rock the chair to confirm it is stable and all connections are firm.
Compatibility
These chairs are designed for broad compatibility with various outdoor settings and styles. Their sleek black finish and modern design allow them to blend seamlessly with:
- Garden Tables: They pair well with diverse outdoor dining tables, including glass, metal, and various wood finishes.
- Patio Décor: Suitable for a wide array of patio styles, from minimalist contemporary to more industrial or traditional looks.
- Balcony Spaces: Their relatively compact dimensions and efficient stackability make them an excellent choice for smaller urban outdoor areas.
- Other Furniture: Can be easily integrated with existing loungers, side tables, or decorative elements.
Care
Proper care will significantly extend the life and appearance of your garden chairs:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the textilene fabric and powder-coated steel frame regularly with a damp cloth and a solution of mild soap (e.g., dish soap) and water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue and allow to air dry completely. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or stiff brushes that could damage the finish or fabric.
- Protection: While the materials are weather-resistant, it is highly recommended to use durable and waterproof garden furniture covers. This is especially important during prolonged periods of non-use, heavy rain, or harsh winter months, as it will protect against UV damage, dirt, and moisture. The manufacturer specifically suggests exploring their range of heavy-duty covers for the best fit and protection.
- Storage: When not in use, particularly during off-seasons or inclement weather, utilize the stackable feature. Stack the chairs and store them in a sheltered area such as a shed, garage, or under a robust protective cover to shield them from extreme conditions and extend their lifespan.
